Forearm crutches are typically not suited for individuals that are in poor health, have diminished strength or challenged by long term ambulatory activities such as poor balance, navigating uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, etc. Those that are significantly overweight are not ideal candidates and might be better served with other mobility devices.
Those who are unwilling to spend 2-3 days to become familiarized and proficient in using forearm crutches.
Please consult your doctor or physical therapist to ensure forearm crutches will meet your physical and mobility requirements.
I am considering buying the ErgoDynamic model online and I am on the high end of the suggested spring rate/weight option. Which one should a select?
The ErgoDynamic forearm crutches are available in 3 spring rate/weight options:
(S) up to 154lbs (70kg)
(M) 132 – 198lbs (60-90kg)
(L) over 176lbs (80kg)
If you are within 10lbs of the high end of the suggested weight range, we suggest you select the next higher spring rate/weight option.
Example. If you weigh 188lbs, we suggest that you select the (L) version.
